Located in the easternmost ridge of the Blue Ridge mountains, and home to over 69,000 people was founded in 1745. Frederick was briefly Maryland capital city in 1861 during the Civil War. And home to the famous lawyer, Francis Scott Key, who wrote the national anthem, the “star Spangled Banner”.
Frederick is well known for its “clustered spires” skyline of the historic churches in the downtown.
Frederick is the second largest city in Maryland and remains the fastest growing county in Maryland.
